TASKS

Week 1 (4/4/23): The first class was only about MIB briefing, where Mr. Razif explained to us what our assignments will be. He mentioned that we are to have a contest on making a TikTok filter and for that we need to have a tiktok account and familiarize ourselves with the filters they have. Other than that, our other assignment will be of an interactive web application prototype. When an example was shown in class, it seemed to be something complex to achieve. However, only time can tell how it's gonna be.

Before the next class, we were told to have some research on tiktok filters and choose a few that we like. Simultaneously, we also have to pitch in 3 ideas on what filter we want to make.

Filters I like:
1. Flying goose: Click here to see hehe (sadly they deleted the filter T^T)
2. Realistic makeup: see it see it

Filter ideas:
1. Interactive filters like the wordle above, but its focused on kpop groups. Since kpop is now very popular, I believe if there's a filter like that but with words or names associated with kpop it might blow up.
2. Filters that work on cats. There's a lot of them on TikTok now, which could be hard to maintain originality, but yeah.
3. Makeup filter with additional 3D accessories.

Week 2 (11/4/23): In this week's class, we tried to explore Effect House and did an exercise to get a hang of it. We followed one of the tutorials that was provided in the website.

fig. 2. filter execution on Effect House

The process of making it was quite fun to do. Before making this, we also explored on a template filter to know how the tools work. Since it was our first time using Effect House, we ended spending the whole class hour on it.

Week 3 (18/4/23): For this week, we were introduced to Adobe Animate and did some simple animations so we can get used to the interface.

fig.3. Adobe Animate first try

We started with a simple square shape and used the panel below to control the key frames and moved the shape to our desired position on the said key frames. In my opinion, the way it works is similar to how after effects is so not everything was difficult to do.

Week 4 (25/4/23): Our class this week was held online as we were still in raya mood. However, we still did some Animate exercise that Mr. Razif demonstrated, and we took turns showing our work after each exercise.

fig. 4. Adobe Animate bouncing ball exercise

The first one was similar to what we did last week, except its in a bouncing motion and later added a movement for it to move from one side to the other while bouncing.

fig. 5. Adobe Animate Slideshow animation with buttons

Next exercise was to create three different figures in each keyframes and the extra stuff is adding buttons in this, where if we were to click on one button it goes to its respective page. The process is a bit complex to follow but at the end I managed to complete it.

Week 5 (02/05/23): For this week we didn't have any class. Instead, we had a workshop about TikTok and a few guest speakers came to campus to deliver their speeches. A very nice lady (I'm sorry I forgot her name) that represented TikTok and Mr. Kow who really like making filters for TikTok were the guests.

They both gave useful informations on the topic, especially Mr. Kow as our assignment is to create a filter. After his speech on filters, I now know that it is also possible to create filters on the app itself and it actually takes such a short time. He also mentioned that if we had questions regarding this, we could ask him through his TikTok account.
